Brewers fend off Pirates
The Milwaukee Brewers scored five runs in the first inning and held on for a 8-6 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday night at Miller Park.
Milwaukee won the game as -145 favorites, while the 14 runs sailed OVER the game’s posted over/under (9).
Prince Fielder led the Brewers with a three-run dinger. Manny Parra tossed six innings for the win, while Trevor Hoffman closed out the ninth for his 28th save.
Andrew McCutchen hit a two-run homer and finished with four runs batted in for the Pirates. Zach Duke surrendered 11 hits and seven runs over three innings in the loss.
