Phillies avoid sweep by Braves
The defending World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies got into the win column Wednesday by defeating the Atlanta Braves 12-11 in the finale of a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park.
Philadelphia won the game as -115 favorites, while the combined 23 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (9).
Raul Ibanez went deep for a two-run shot and collected three RBIs for Philadelphia. Clay Condrey got the win in relief, and Brad Lidge tossed the final inning to earn the save.
Matt Diaz homered and drove in three runs for the Braves. Blaine Boyer allowed two runs in relief to suffer the loss.
