Nationals avoid sweep to Phillies
The struggling Washington Nationals banged out 11 hits and avoided a three-game sweep by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park.
Washington won the game as +165 underdogs, while the five runs went UNDER the posted over/under (10.5).
Anderson Hernandez went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs to lead the way. Scott Olsen picked up his first win in four outings, and Julian Tavarez notched his first save.
Shane Victorino homered for the Phillies, and Brett Myers was tagged for eight hits and three runs over six innings of work.
