Phillies sneak past Mets in extras
A bases-loaded walk gave the Philadelphia Phillies a lackluster 6-5 win over the New York Mets in the 10th inning at Citizens Bank Park Saturday.
Philadelphia won as a -115 home favorite while the final score played over the 10.5-run total.
Shane Victorino drew the game-winning walk, finishing 2-for-5 with a double and a triple. Outfielder Raul Ibanez hit his eighth home run of the season, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Starter Jamie Moyer pitched just over five innings, allowing five runs on seven hits.
The Mets starter Oliver Perez continued to struggled, pitching under three innings and giving up four runs on five hits. Daniel Murphy and Ramon A. Castro had home runs for New York while Carlos Beltran finished 2-for-5.
