Phillies slip past Nationals
The Philadelphia Phillies pounded out 16 hits en route to a 5-4 win over the Washington Nationals Friday night in the opener of a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park.
Philadelphia won the game as -180 favorites, while the nine runs went UNDER the night’s posted over/under (9.5).
Raul Ibanez went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs for the Phillies. J.A. Happ improved to 3-0 with the victory, and Brad Lidge collected his 10th save.
Josh Willingham had two hits with two RBIs and a run scored. Ross Detwiler scattered 10 hits and five runs in the loss.
