Jones long ball lifts Pirates
Garrett Jones launched a three-run homer to help the Pittsburgh Pirates defeat the Cincinnati Reds 5-2 Friday night in the opener of a three-game series at PNC Park.
Pittsburgh won the game as -145 favorites, while the seven runs went UNDER the posted over/under (8.5).
Lastings Milledge went 2-for-3 at the plate with a solo home run for the Pirates. Charlie Morton pitched 6 1-3 innings for the win, allowing six hits and two runs.
Chris Dickerson and Joey Votto drove in the runs for Cincinnati. Micah Owings gave up all five runs in suffering the loss.
