Padres edge Mariners in extra inning

Kevin Kouzmanoff drove in the winning run in the 10th inning to give the San Diego Padres a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners Thursday and avoided a three-game sweep at Petco Park.

San Diego won the game as a -110 pick’em, and the seven runs went UNDER the posted over/under (8).

Adrian Gonzalez went 4-for-4 at the plate with a solo home run and two runs batted in for the Padres. Heath Bell tossed two innings of scoreless relief to pick up the victory.

Franklin Gutierrez belted two home runs in a losing effort for the Mariners. Miguel Batista surrendered the winning run in the 10th.
