Giants outlast Padres in extra innings

Matt Downs' two-run double highlighted a three-run top of the 12th inning, as the San Francisco Giants held off the San Diego Padres 7-6 on Tuesday night.

San Francisco won as +100 road underdogs, while the teams played OVER the 6-run total set by sportsbooks.

Andres Torres was 2-for-5 with a homer and two runs batted in for the Giants, as Dan Runzler got the victory in relief of Jonathan Sanchez for San Francisco.

Jerry Hairston Jr. and David Eckstein were both 2-for-6 with two RBIs for San Diego, while Cesar Ramos was handed the loss after giving up the go-ahead runs in the top of the 12th.
