Cardinals top Reds
The St. Louis Cardinals scored three times in the first inning as they defeated the Cincinnati Reds 5-2 Wednesday night at Busch Stadium.
St. Louis won the game as -110 pick’em, while the seven runs went UNDER the posted over/under (8).
Matt Holliday went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run for the Cardinals. Chris Carpenter improved to 12-3 with the win, and Ryan Franklin notched his 28th save.
Brandon Phillips drove in a pair of runs in a losing effort for the Reds. Homer Bailey gave up three runs and suffered the loss.
