Six-run inning lifts Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox rallied with six runs in the fifth-inning and Jason Varitek hit two home runs to help them defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 8-3 Wednesday at Fenway Park.
Boston won the game as -140 favorites, while the 11 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (10).
Jason Bay went 2-for-3 at the plate, including a two-run homer for the Red Sox. Brad Penny gave up nine hits and two runs over 6 2-3 innings in the win.
Lyle Overbay had two hits and drove in one run for the Blue Jays. Brett Cecil was rocked for 11 hits and eight runs over 4 2-3 innings in the loss.
