Mariners edge Red Sox
The Seattle Mariners scored late in the game for the second straight time as they edged the Boston Red Sox 3-2 Saturday afternoon at Fenway Park.
Seattle won this game as a +200 underdog, while the five runs went UNDER the day’s posted over/under (10).
Russell Branyan drove in two runs, and Chris Woodward batted in the winning run for the Mariners. Roy Corcoran tossed just under two innings of relief for the win, and David Aardsma collected his 17th save.
Jason Varitek hit a two-run homer in a losing cause for the Red Sox. Takashi Saito gave up the winning run and suffered the loss.
