Red Sox grab opener over Twins
The Boston Red Sox scored a huge 10-1 win over the Minnesota Twins in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon in a rain-shortened seven-inning contest at Fenway Park.
Boston won the game as -135 favorites, and the 11 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9.5).
Mike Lowell belted a two-run homer and finished with three RBIs to lead the BoSox. Tim Wakefield threw a complete seven innings for the win, allowing one run off five hits.
Justin Morneau drove in the lone run for the Twins. Scott Baker gave up six runs over 4 2-3 innings in the loss.
