Inge, Tigers trim White Sox in opener

Brandon Inge's RBI single in the top of the ninth inning lifted the Detroit Tigers past the Chicago White Sox 5-4 in Game 1 of their doubleheader on Monday.

Detroit won as +120 road underdogs as the game played UNDER the 9.5-run total listed by oddsmakers.

Inge finished 2-for-4 with two runs batted in for the Tigers, while Joel Zumaya picked up the win in relief of starter Armando Galarraga for Detroit.

Jermaine Dye was 2-for-4 with a two-run shot for Chicago, as Scott Linebrink was hit with the loss after allowing the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning.
