Twins gain ground on Tigers
The Minnesota Twins are inching closer to the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central with a 6-2 win over their divisional rivals in Game 2 of their weekend series at the Metrodome.
Minnesota won as a +120 home underdogs while the final score played pushed with the 8-run total.
The Twins got big hits from Jason Kubel and Michael Cuddyer in the eighth, sparking a five-run inning. Starting pitcher Carl Pavano allowed two runs in seven innings of work.
The Tigers got seven solid innings out of ace Justin Verlander until a disastrous eight inning. Miguel Cabrera finished the day with three hits and one RBI.
