Phillies end Yankees streak
The Philadelphia Phillies stopped the New York Yankees nine-game win streak with a 7-3 victory in the opener of a three-game Inter-league series at Yankee Stadium Friday night.
Philadelphia won the game as +150 underdogs, while the 10 runs went UNDER the night’s posted over/under (11).
Jayson Werth and Carlos Ruiz both hit two-run homers to lift the Phillies. Brett Myers tossed eight innings for the win, and fanned five batters.
Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, and Mark Teixeira all went deep for the Yankees. A.J. Burnett gave up eight hits and five runs over six innings in the loss.
