Yankees take Twins in extras
Alex Rodriguez continues to make a splash since returning from injury. He launched a two-run shot to give the New York Yankees a 6-4 win over the Minnesota Twins in the 11th inning at Yankee Stadium Saturday.
New York won as a -185 home favorite while the final score pushed the 10-run total.
Rodriguez's home run made was his only hit of the day and his second of the season. Designated hitter Mark Teixeira was 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run and four RBI. Starter Joba Chamberlain went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits.
Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau both had home runs for the Twins. The two sluggers combined for 3-of-7 hitting with three walks and two RBI. Starter Nick Blackburn pitched just over seven innings, giving up four runs on six hits.
