Thames, Yankees outgun Red Sox

Marcus Thames' walk-off, two-run blast in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the New York Yankees over the Boston Red Sox 11-9 on Monday night.

New York won as -185 home favorites, while the teams played OVER the 9-run total posted by oddsmakers.

Thames finished 2-for-4 with four runs batted in for the Yankees, as Javier Vazquez got the victory in relief of Phil Hughes for New York.

J.D. Drew went 2-for-5 with a three-run dinger for Boston, while Jonathan Papelbon took the loss after allowing Thames' walk-off in the bottom of the ninth.
