Mariners earn split with Red Sox

The Seattle Mariners rallied with three runs in the eighth inning and defeated the Boston Red Sox 4-2 Sunday for a split of the four-game set at Safeco Field.

Michael Saunders batted in a pair of runs to lead the Mariners, while Brandon League picked up the win in relief. David Aardsma turned away the side in the ninth for his 18th save.

Hideki Okajima suffered the loss for the Red Sox after giving up two runs off five hits in relief.
