Matt Joyce launched a two-run homer as the Tampa Bay Rays extended their lead in the race for the AL East title by defeating the Seattle Mariners 9-1 Saturday at Tropicana Field.

The Rays won this contest as -220 favorites, and the 10 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (8) set by sportsbooks.

B.J. Upton homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Rays. Matt Garza scattered eight hits and one earned run over eight innings for the win.

Doug Fister suffered the loss by giving up five hits and four runs over his six innings for the Mariners.
