Mariners dump A’s; avoid sweep

The Seattle Mariners avoided a three-game sweep by defeating the Oakland A’s 6-1 Wednesday afternoon in the series finale at Oakland Coliseum.

Seattle won the game as -120 favorites, while the seven runs went UNDER the day’s posted over/under (7.5).

Russell Branyan went 2-for-4 at the plate, including a two-run homer for the Mariners. Erik Bedard improved to 3-2 with the win, allowing five hits and one run over 6 2-3 innings.

Bobby Crosby drove in the only A’s run with a solo home run. Trevor Cahill surrendered six hits and three runs over six innings in the loss.
