Dodgers down Nationals in extras
Reliever Carlos Monasterios put in some overtime for the Los Angeles Dodgers, pitching just under three extra innings in a 4-3 win over the Washington Nationals in 13 innings at Nationals Park Saturday.
Los Angeles won as a -170 road favorite while the final score played UNDER the 9-run total.
The Dodgers got a big day from third baseman Casey Blake, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI including a home run. Catcher Russel Martin knocked in the scoring run with a single in the 13th inning.
Nationals starter Craig Stammen went six innings, giving up three runs on six hits. He also went 2-for-3 with an RBI at the plate. Nyjer Morgan and Cristian Guzman also registered RBIs in the loss.
