The Texas Rangers got up by eight runs and held on for a 9-6 victory over the Chicago White Sox Saturday night at Rangers Ballpark.

Texas won the game as -135 favorites, and the 15 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (11.5).

Hank Blalock belted a three-run homer and drove in four runs to lead the Rangers. Brandon McCarthy allowed three hits and one run over five innings in the win.

A.J. Pierzynski smacked a grand slam for the White Sox. Jose Contreras gave up seven runs off seven hits in 3 1-3 innings of work in the loss.
