Rays double Rangers; stay alive

Carlos Pena launched a two-run homer in the ninth and drove in three runs to lead Tampa Bay in a 6-3 win over Texas in Game 3 of their ALDS Saturday, as the Rangers now hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series.

The Rays won the game as a +105 underdog, while the nine runs made it OVER the game’s posted over/under (8.5) set by sportsbooks.

Carl Crawford also went deep in the three-run ninth inning for the Rays. Joaquin Benoit pitched 1 2-3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.

Darren Oliver suffered the loss on the hill for the Rangers, giving up two earned runs in relief.
