Mets topple Nationals for sweep
Daniel Murphy drove in five runs to lead the New York Mets to a 7-4 victory over the Washington Nationals Wednesday night.
The Mets won the game as -210 favorites, while the 11 runs sailed OVER the night’s posted over/under (7.5).
Murphy went 3-for-4 at the plate with a two-run homer for the Mets. Johan Santana earned the win on the mound, tossing six innings with 11 strikeouts.
Nick Johnson had three hits and drove in one run for the Nationals. Jordan Zimmermann allowed eight hits and five runs over five innings in the loss.
