Parnell, Mets shut down Giants
Bobby Parnell combined on a four-hit shutout with seven strikeouts Friday, as the New York Mets defeated the San Francisco Giants 3-0 in the opener of a four-game series at Citi Field.
The Mets won the game as +105 underdogs, while the team’s played UNDER the posted over/under (8.5).
Angel Pagan belted a solo home run for the Mets, while Gary Sheffield and Jeff Francoeur drove in the other runs.
Barry Zito surrendered three runs over five innings and fell to 8-11 on the season.
