Braves edge Mets in rubber match
The Atlanta Braves scored early and held on for a 3-2 victory over the New York Mets Thursday night in the series rubber match at Citi Field.
Atlanta won the game as +110 underdogs, while the five runs went UNDER the night’s posted over/under (7.5).
Ryan Church went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in one run for the Braves. Kenshin Kawakami earned his sixth win of the season, and Rafael Soriano secured the win with his 18th save.
Omir Santos and Cory Sullivan drove in one run apiece for the Mets. Johan Santana allowed nine hits and three runs over seven innings in the loss.
