Mets whip Astros
The New York Mets got solid pitching as they came away with a 7-1 victory over the Houston Astros in their series-opener Friday night at Citi Field.
New York won the game as +120 underdogs, while the eight runs made it OVER the posted over/under (7.5).
Jeff Francoeur went 3-for-4 at the plate with a two-run homer for the Mets. John Maine allowed just five hits and one run over seven innings for the win.
Wandy Rodriguez gave up eight hits and three runs over six innings in the loss.
