Twins trounce Royals
The Minnesota Twins got a solo home run from Orlando Hudson in the seventh inning to knock off the Kansas City Royals 6-5 at Target Field Saturday afternoon.
Minnesota won as a -182 home favorite while the final score played OVER the 9.5-run total.
Twins catcher Joe Mauer finished the day 2-for-4 with two RBI while slugger Jim Thome went 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBI and a home run in the second inning. Starter Nick Blackburn last five innings, giving up five runs on seven hits.
The Royals got three RBI from outfielder Rick Ankiel, who finished the day 2-for-4 with two home runs. Starting pitcher Gil Meche went six innings, allowing five runs before reliever John Parrish gave up the losing run in the seventh.
