Yankees draw first blood
Mark Teixeira hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to lift the New York Yankees to a 6-4 win over the Minnwesota Twins in Game 1 of their ALDS Wednesday night.
The Yankees won the opener as -150 favorites, and the 10 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (7.5) set by sportsbooks.
Curtis Granderson also drove in a pair of runs for the Yankees. C.C. Sabathia scattered five hits and four runs over his six innings for the win.
Michael Cuddyer hit a two-run dinger for the Twins, while Jesse Cain gave up a pair of runs in relief and was tagged with the loss.
