Crandell silences critics
Marcus Crandall threw for 278 yards as the Saskatchewan Roughriders opened defence of the Grey Cup with a 34-13 win over the Edmonton Eskimos Saturday night at Mosaic Stadium.
Saskatchewan covered the 4.5-point spread, while the 47 points fell UNDER the posted total of 53.
Crandall completed 19-of-29 pass attempts and Wes Cates ran for 86 yards with two touchdowns for the Roughriders.
Ricky Ray threw for 249 yards and made good on 25-of-37 pass attempts, but could not get into the end zone. Noel Prefontaine booted four field-goals in the loss.
