Hudson, Braves shut down Padres

Tim Hudson tossed seven scoreless innings as the Atlanta Braves defeated the San Diego Padres 8-0 Thursday afternoon in the series rubber match at Turner Field.

The Braves won the game as -170 favorites, while the eight runs made it OVER the posted over/under (7.5) set by sportsbooks.

Alex Gonzalez went 4-for-5 at the plate with two runs batted in for Atlanta. Hudson improved to 10-5 with the win.

Clayton Richard gave up nine hits and four runs over six innings in the loss.
