Red Sox down Orioles in opener
The Boston Red Sox got past the Baltimore Orioles with a 3-1 victory in the series-opener Friday night at Camden Yards.

Casey Kotchman went 3-for-4 at the plate with one RBI for the Red Sox. Clay Buchholz pitched six innings for the win, allowing five hits and one run.
Luke Scott homered to drive in the only run for the Orioles. Jeremy Guthrie surrendered nine hits and three runs over 5 2-3 innings in the loss.
