The Baltimore Orioles scored four runs in the eighth inning Friday, as they defeated the Chicago White Sox 5-1 in the series-opener at U.S. Cellular Field.

Baltimore won the game as +180 underdogs, while the six runs went UNDER the posted over/under (9).

Brian Roberts smacked two home runs and drove in three runs to lead the Orioles. Jeremy Guthrie earned his eighth win with seven complete innings, allowing just six hits and one run.

Jim Thome belted a solo home run for the only White Sox run. Gavin Floyd gave up seven hits and four runs in just over seven innings in the loss.
