The Baltimore Orioles scored seven runs over two innings as they got past the Kansas City Royals 9-5 in the opener of a four-game series at Kauffman Stadium Thursday night.

Baltimore won the game as +115 underdogs, and the 14 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (8.5).

Cesar Izturis had two hits and drove in three runs for the Orioles. Jeremy Guthrie allowed four runs over five innings in the win.

Billy Butler homered and drove in three runs for the Royals. Gil Meche surrendered six hits and five runs over 4 1-3 innings in the loss.
