Orioles outlast Nationals
Adam Jones hit a two-run double in the 12th inning to lift the Baltimore Orioles to a 4-2 win over the Washington Nationals in the opener of a three-game Inter-league series at Nationals Park.
Baltimore won the game as a -105 pick’em, and the six runs went UNDER the posted over/under (10).
Jones finished 3-for-5 at the plate and drove in three runs to lead the way. Danys Baez tossed two innings of relief for the win, and George Sherrill notched his eighth save.
Ryan Zimmerman belted a two-run homer in a losing effort for the Nationals. Kip Wells surrendered both runs in the 12th and was tagged with the loss.
