Jimmy Graham inflicted damage on the Atlanta secondary, getting 100 receiving yards as New Orleans defeated the Falcons 17-13 at Georgia Dome.
The Saints earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 7.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 53.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Drew Brees completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 278 yards and 2 TDs for the Saints in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Steven Jackson rushed for 63 yards for Atlanta, while Antone Smith added 11 yards. Matt Ryan threw for 292 yards for the Falcons, while receivers Harry Douglas and Darius Johnson had 79 and 67 yards respectively.
Atlanta lost the offensive yardage battle to New Orleans 374-355 yards in Thursday's game. Atlanta had more first downs as that total ended up 22-19.
The time of possession battle favored Atlanta as their offense was on the field for 33:46, longer than the 26:14 of their opponents.
New Orleans looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Seahawks. The Falcons will aim to get back on the winning track at Buffalo.
