Michael Turner scampered through the Tampa Bay defense for 107 yards as Atlanta handed the Buccaneers a 27-21 defeat on Sunday at Georgia Dome.
The Falcons earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 10-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 44.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Matt Ryan completed 24 of 36 pass attempts for 235 yards and 1 TD for the Falcons in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
LeGarrette Blount rushed for 46 yards for Tampa Bay, while Josh Freeman added 26 yards. Josh Freeman threw for 189 yards for the Buccaneers, while receivers Mike Williams and Micheal Spurlock had 89 and 46 yards respectively.
Atlanta outgained Tampa Bay 365-278 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 26-14 by the Falcons.
The time of possession battle favored Atlanta as their offense was on the field for 34:06, longer than the 25:54 of their opponents.
Atlanta looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Ravens. The Buccaneers will aim to get back on the winning track vs Carolina.
