George Atkinson tore up the turf for 123 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Fighting Irish to a 41-3 win over the Hurricanes at Soldier Field.
The Fighting Irish were a 16.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 55.5.
Everett Golson completed 17 of 22 pass attempts for 186 yards for the Fighting Irish in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Mike James rushed for 28 yards for Miami, while Duke Johnson added 22 yards. Stephen Morris threw for 201 yards for the Hurricanes, while receivers Davon Johnson and Duke Johnson had 68 and 35 yards respectively.
Notre Dame outgained Miami 587-285 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 34-13 by the Fighting Irish.
The time of possession battle favored Notre Dame as their offense was on the field for 39:08, longer than the 20:52 of their opponents.
Next game, Notre Dame takes its act home to face Stanford looking for another win. For Miami, they head home to face North Carolina.
