Florida State vs Virginia Tech Wrap - Florida State Wins 28-22
EJ Manuel sliced and diced the Hokies defense for 326 yards as Florida State handed Virginia Tech a 28-22 defeat on Thursday at Lane Stadium.
Florida State did not, however, defeat the Hokies against the spread, which closed at 13 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 49.5.
Lonnie Pryor rushed for 22 yards, while James Wilder added 10 yards in the win. Rashad Greene and Greg Dent added 125 and 73 receiving yards respectively.
J.C. Coleman rushed for 41 yards for Virginia Tech, while Tony Gregory added 19 yards. Logan Thomas threw for 298 yards for the Hokies, while receivers Corey Fuller and Marcus Davis had 124 and 68 yards respectively.
Virginia Tech outgained Florida State 385-311 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 21-16 by the Seminoles.
Florida State lost the time of possession battle 31:29/28:31, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
