Northwestern vs Indiana Wrap - Northwestern Wins 20-17
Mike Trumpy tore up the turf for 110 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Wildcats to a 20-17 win over the Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium.
The Wildcats earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 3.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 58.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Dan Persa completed 18 of 28 pass attempts for 212 yards for the Wildcats in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Trea Burgess rushed for 37 yards for Indiana, while Ben Chappell added 21 yards. Ben Chappell threw for 308 yards for the Hoosiers, while receivers Damarlo Belcher and Duwyce Wilson had 87 and 71 yards respectively.
Northwestern outgained Indiana 380-373 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 23-20 by the Hoosiers.
Northwestern led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:06/29:54 split in that important category.
Next game, Northwestern takes its act on the road to face Penn State looking for another win. For Indiana, they head home to face Iowa.
