Golden Gophers Fall 45-17 Against Purdue - Game Recap
Minnesota couldn't hang with the Boilermakers on Saturday as Purdue blasted the Golden Gophers 45-17 in Week 6 action at Ross-Ade Stadium.
The Boilermakers were a 14-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 47.5.
Caleb TerBush completed 14 of 21 pass attempts for 140 yards for the Boilermakers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Duane Bennett rushed for 53 yards for Minnesota, while Donnell Kirkwood added 27 yards. MarQueis Gray threw for 104 yards for the Golden Gophers, while receivers Marcus Jones and Da'Jon McKnight had 32 and 25 yards respectively.
Minnesota lost the offensive yardage battle to Purdue 372-213 yards in Saturday's game. Purdue had more first downs as that total ended up 22-11.
The time of possession battle favored Purdue as their offense was on the field for 33:57, longer than the 26:03 of their opponents.
Purdue looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Penn State. Minnesota will aim to get back on the winning track vs Nebraska.
