Marcus Coker tore up the turf for 139 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Hawkeyes to a 45-24 win over the Hoosiers at Kinnick Stadium.
Iowa did not, however, defeat the Hoosiers against the spread, which closed at 23 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 54.5.
James Vandenberg completed 12 of 16 pass attempts for 253 yards for the Hawkeyes in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Tre Roberson rushed for 82 yards for Indiana, while Stephen Houston added 75 yards. Tre Roberson threw for 196 yards for the Hoosiers, while receivers Jamonne Chester and Kofi Hughes had 54 and 34 yards respectively.
Iowa outgained Indiana 456-414 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 24-22 by the Hoosiers.
Iowa lost the time of possession battle 30:33/29:27, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Iowa takes its act on the road to face Minnesota looking for another win. For Indiana, they head home to face Northwestern.
