Matt Barkley sliced and diced the Utes defense for 303 yards as Southern Cal handed Utah a 38-28 defeat on Thursday at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

The Trojans earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 13.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 50.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Silas Redd rushed for 77 yards, while D.J. Morgan added 46 yards in the win. Marqise Lee and Robert Woods added 192 and 69 receiving yards respectively.

John White rushed for 68 yards for Utah, while Kelvin York added 15 yards. Jon Hays threw for 160 yards for the Utes, while receivers DeVonte Christopher and Dres Anderson had 62 and 47 yards respectively.

Utah was outgained by Southern Cal 432-304 yards in Thursday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-15 by the Trojans.

Utah lost the time of possession battle 32:53/27:07, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
