Western Kentucky Defeats Arkansas State 36-35 - Recap
Bobby Rainey tore up the turf for 154 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Hilltoppers to a 36-35 win over the Red Wolves at ASU Stadium.
The Hilltoppers were a 12.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 55.5.
Kawaun Jakes completed 11 of 27 pass attempts for 151 yards for the Hilltoppers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Ryan Aplin rushed for 96 yards for Arkansas State, while Derek Lawson added 53 yards. Ryan Aplin threw for 306 yards for the Red Wolves, while receivers Taylor Stockemer and Dwayne Frampton had 80 and 59 yards respectively.
Arkansas State lost the time of possession battle 40:47/19:13, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Western Kentucky takes its act home to face Middle Tennessee looking for another win. For Arkansas State, they head on the road to face Navy.
