Recap - Bulls Defeat Rutgers 28-27
Moise Plancher scampered through the Rutgers defense for 135 yards as South Florida handed the Scarlet Knights a 28-27 defeat on Wednesday at Raymond James Stadium.
The Bulls earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 10-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 43.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
B.J. Daniels completed 10 of 17 pass attempts for 149 yards for the Bulls in the win. He was picked off 1 time by the Scarlet Knights defense.
Jeremy Deering rushed for 69 yards for Rutgers, while Jordan Thomas added 15 yards. Chas Dodd threw for 139 yards for the Scarlet Knights, while receivers Mark Harrison and Mohamed Sanu had 88 and 48 yards respectively.
Rutgers was outgained by South Florida 306-238 yards in Wednesday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 16-14 by the Bulls.
The time of possession battle favored South Florida as their offense was on the field for 30:19, longer than the 29:41 of their opponents.
South Florida looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Louisville. Rutgers will aim to get back on the winning track vs Syracuse.
