Bryan Ellis sliced and diced the Tigers defense for 361 yards as UAB handed Memphis a 31-15 defeat on Saturday at Legion Field.
UAB did not, however, defeat the Tigers against the spread, which closed at 19.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 57.5.
Pat Shed rushed for 125 yards, while Daniel Borne added 23 yards in the win. Patrick Hearn and Jeffery Anderson added 123 and 80 receiving yards respectively.
Jerrell Rhodes rushed for 85 yards for Memphis, while Gregory Ray added 18 yards. Ryan Williams threw for 228 yards for the Tigers, while receivers Marcus Rucker and Jermaine McKenzie had 90 and 45 yards respectively.
Memphis was outgained by UAB 510-331 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 21-13 by the Blazers.
UAB led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 34:05/25:55 split in that important category.
UAB looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Rice. Memphis will aim to get back on the winning track vs Central Florida.
