Rebels Fall 49-10 Against West Virginia - Game Recap
Brad Starks was good for 100 receiving yards on Saturday as the Mountaineers grabbed a 49-10 win over the Rebels at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.
West Virginia won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 27-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 47.5.
Geno Smith completed 12 of 16 pass attempts for 220 yards for the Mountaineers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Tim Cornett rushed for 56 yards for UNLV, while Deante Purvis added 48 yards. Caleb Herring threw for 101 yards for the Rebels, while receivers Tate Knutson and Austin Harrington had 51 and 34 yards respectively.
West Virginia outgained UNLV 445-276 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 16-15 by the Mountaineers.
The time of possession battle favored UNLV as their offense was on the field for 36:03, longer than the 23:57 of their opponents.
West Virginia looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against South Florida. UNLV will aim to get back on the winning track at Colorado State.
