Geno Smith's 450-yard performance through the air was the key in West Virginia's 43-16 win over Connecticut on Saturday at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.

Dustin Garrison rushed for 80 yards, while Andrew Buie added 11 yards in the win. Stedman Bailey and Ivan McCartney added 178 and 131 receiving yards respectively.
Lyle McCombs rushed for 73 yards for Connecticut, while Johnny McEntee added 13 yards. Johnny McEntee threw for 193 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Ryan Griffin and Isiah Moore had 57 and 41 yards respectively.
Connecticut was outgained by West Virginia 541-275 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 23-16 by the Mountaineers.
Connecticut led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:33/27:27 split in that important category.
West Virginia looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Syracuse. Connecticut will aim to get back on the winning track vs South Florida.
