Southern Miss Defeats Central Florida 30-29 - Recap

Austin Davis led the way with 364 passing yards on Saturday as the Golden Eagles picked up a 30-29 victory over the Knights at MM Roberts Stadium.

The Golden Eagles earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 9.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 51.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Jamal Woodyard rushed for 70 yards, while Tracy Lampley added 24 yards in the win. Ryan Balentine and Kelvin Bolden added 122 and 95 receiving yards respectively.

Latavius Murray rushed for 19 yards for Central Florida, while Ronnie Weaver added 12 yards. Blake Bortles threw for 248 yards for the Knights, while receivers J.J. Worton and A.J. Guyton had 114 and 58 yards respectively.

The time of possession battle favored Central Florida as their offense was on the field for 32:38, longer than the 27:22 of their opponents.

Next game, Southern Miss takes its act on the road to face UAB looking for another win. For Central Florida, they head on the road to face East Carolina.
