Jaguars Fall 31-7 Against North Carolina State - Game Recap
The battle between the Wolfpack and Jaguars didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as South Alabama was handed a 31-7 defeat on Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Bettors who backed the Wolfpack were disappointed, as they failed to cover the closing number of 29.5. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 50.5.
Mike Glennon completed 24 of 34 pass attempts for 257 yards for the Wolfpack in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Demetre Baker rushed for 45 yards for South Alabama, while Kendall Houston added 17 yards. Ross Metheny threw for 189 yards for the Jaguars, while receivers Wes Saxton and Corey Besteda had 72 and 68 yards respectively.
South Alabama was outgained by North Carolina State 384-314 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-14 by the Wolfpack.
South Alabama lost the time of possession battle 35:51/24:09, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, North Carolina State takes its act home to face The Citadel looking for another win. For South Alabama, they head on the road to face Mississippi State.
